Things to do for couples?

My husband and I have some extended family in the Post Falls and Spokane area and we are thinking about heading out there in May for a week and running the BLoomsday race. We%26#39;d like to take a couple days to ourselves and stay somewhere in Coeur D%26#39;Alene since I remember it being beautiful, although it%26#39;s been nearly 15 years and I was just in my teens then...

We%26#39;re athletic and like hiking/running, as well as dining and shopping. Not big gamblers though so I don%26#39;t really see us hitting the casino. What is there to do in the area for kind of a romantic, semi-outdoorsy weekend?

Thanks!

If you like hiking, dining and shopping, I%26#39;d suggest heading to the downtown area, across from the Resort. You can have breakfast at the resort overlooking the lake then walk to the downtown shopping area and do some looking around. After that, you might want to walk over to Tubbs Hill (very short walk) and do some hiking or take one of the lake cruises which take off at the resort. They have a sunset dinner cruise which is nice, too.

Lots to do in that area and the scenery is beautiful.

I agree with Tubbs Hill you might even want to hike up their with your lunch and a blanket for a romantic outdoor picnic n a flatter area, over looking the lake, weather permitting of course. You can also have dinner at The Cedars a very nice floating restaurant in Coeir d%26#39;Alene, that has been around for nearly forever.

There are some nice hikes on the Idaho/Montana border (a little over an hour%26#39;s drive from Coeur d%26#39;Alene). I found this website which might be helpful www.trails.com/activity.aspx?area=13179.

I just realized that the link above takes you to the home page of the trails site instead of directly to the map I was looking at. So after clicking on the link, click on the US map and then Idaho. Type in ';mullan'; for the city and click zoom in. It zooms way in so you%26#39;ll need to zoom out a bit, but at least you%26#39;ll be in the right area. You should see Coeur d%26#39;Alene on the map East of Mullan on I-90. Hope this helps!

We love taking a boat ride over to Eddy%26#39;s for a meal if the weather is nice. There is a great view from the outdoor patio. Or, you can get a great sandwich at Hutton%26#39;s and sit on their outdoor patio behind the store. Both great relaxing places with a great view.
