rv campgrounds in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Idaho Falls

Hello,

My family and I own a 35 ft. fifth-wheel and are planning a trip from Modesto, CA to Yellowstone and back. I have been researching RV campgrounds for a couple of months now, and I am stumped of what campground to book in three areas: Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons and either Idaho Falls or Twin Falls. What do you think of Bay Bridge campground with our size of a RV? Fishing Bridge is probably out, due to the comments I have heard. I don%26#39;t want my husband suffering from a heart attack as he tackles the turns and bends within the park. Is Colter Bay RV campground Ok for our size? Where should we stay in Idaho? Idaho Falls or Twin Falls. We have a 12 year old and a poodle. Thank you. VikkiTennis

Hi vikkitennis,

There%26#39;s a nice place near downtown Idaho Falls that I%26#39;d recommend, the Snake River RV Park (http://www.snakeriverrvpark.net). It%26#39;s a short distance to bars and restaurants (our favorite is the Brownstone Brewpub right on the falls, which is child friendly) and the campground is right on the river.

There%26#39;s some fun stuff to do in Idaho Falls, and it%26#39;s a good stopping point on your way up to Yellowstone. Bear World (just north of town, http://www.yellowstonebearworld.com/) is worth a visit (our 11 year old absolutely loves it). Depending on what time of year you%26#39;re visiting, the Mountain River Ranch (http://www.mountainriverranch.com/) is a lot of fun for a chuckwagon-dinner-theater-type experience.

Have a great trip!

thank you for your tips. I have heard some nice things about that campground. We have decided to drive by way of Salt Lake City and drive North to Yellowstone, then over to the Grand Teton. Have you been to Yellowstone and camped at Bridge Bay or in the Grand Teton at Colter Bay (sp?) campground: I am finalizing our trip up this week.

I appreciate your input and anything else.

thank you.

We%26#39;ve only been tent camping in YNP (Madison campground) - so I%26#39;m not much help for RV advice. Try the West Yellowstone, MT forum - yellowstonefan should be able to enlighten you.

Thank you, I will. I believe we will take up your offer at the Sanke River CG at Idaho Falls.

Thank you for your response.

I took up your offer and we are staying for two nights in Idaho Falls at the Sanke River CG. We will be there over 7/4 and are looking forward to it.

Thank you for your input.
