I%26#39;m starting to plan a trip to CDA area in August 09 for my grandson%26#39;s 11th birthday celebration. Each year, 4 generations of my family (my parents, myself, my daughter, and my grandson) go somewhere for a week to celebrate his birthday. Next year, he has chosen to go to Silverwood. Usually, we camp out in my parents 34%26#39; 5th wheel but we%26#39;re kicking around staying in a cabin so we don%26#39;t have to pull the 5th wheel all the way to CDA (a 734 mile one way trip for my parents).
I don%26#39;t know the area very well so I%26#39;m having a hard time researching different possibilties on the internet. If anyone could give me some ideas of cabins available to rent I%26#39;d appreciate it very much. There will be 4-5 adults and 1 child going. We%26#39;re not into ';luxery';. Basic is fine as long as its clean- somewhere between $150 to %200 a night (is that range a pipedream??) We don%26#39;t really want to stay in CDA and we dont%26#39; want a hotel setting- we prefer by a cabin by a lake or stream. We%26#39;d want something relatively close to Silverwood so its not a long drive to get there for his day of fun. At most we would probably spend 3 nights in the area.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Need help with lodging possibilities
Deb,
This may be a good start, The Ponderosa Inn B%26amp;B.
2 miles west of Silverwood out in the country.
Sounds like it may be worth looking at.

Need help with lodging possibilities
The cabins at Hayden Hideaway are nice and a bargain and should sleep that many people. She has one rule, though, no smoking, and no pets, the number is 208-762-7715 until the end of September or you can reach the owner at 808-951-8282
You might want to consider the cabins at Farragut State Park which is very close to Silverwood. Web site is: …idaho.gov/parks/farragut.aspx
Thanks everyone for suggestions. I%26#39;ve checked the cabins at the park- we would need more cooking facilities then they offer. The Hayden Hideaway looks great and would fit our needs exept for the no pets part. I forgot to mention that I have a ';special needs kitty'; that I have to take with me due to her needing meds and special care throughout the day. LOL- she%26#39;s gone on vacations all over- Black Hills and YNP/Jackson WY to name a few. She has even gone tent camping in the Beartooth Mountains. I%26#39;ve started taking pictures of her in front of different tourist areas- kind of like competition for the ';Travelocity Gnome';---she%26#39;s the ';Travelocity Cat';. She%26#39;s a sweetie and stays in a large carrier when we travel but I can understand people not wanting pets in their cabins. We might just have to end up taking my parents 5th wheel with us.
Again, thanks for your suggestions. I%26#39;ll keep plugging away at searching for a place. Hopefully I will find something suitable.
Deb
You know you can also try Cedar Mountain Farm Bed and breakfast, they have one room, that%26#39;s a cabin by itself, with a full kitchen, and I know the owner%26#39;s over there sell the discount tickets too, the number is 208-683-0572
Thanks Squareboy for the suggestion of the Cedar Mountain Farm Bed %26amp; Breakfast. I checked out their website and it looks exactly what we%26#39;re looking for- and yea! they take pets. I%26#39;ll show it to my parents when they visit me in two weeks and see what they think. Again, thanks for taking the time to help me with my search.
Deb
