We we are planning a family boating trip for the end of August. I have read that Cascade has murkey water the end of August, but may be warmer %26amp; less busy. I need help! We are looking for a place with nice beaches for a 1 year old, scenic, good water for waterskiing and where we may be able to stay in a place close to the water. We don%26#39;t want the water to be so cold we will be miserable in it. Any suggestions???? We are from Elko NV (6 hr drive to these lakes). We are flexible and can go to a different location, is better. Thanks for your help!
Payette Lake vs Cascade Resevoir to waterski??
Dworshak is clear, uncrowded, and the ultimate ski destination. The water is fairly warm, and there is ALWAYS somewhere close where you can find a glass surface. All this and it is one of the most scenic reservoirs you will ever see. It is almost 60 miles long and runs from gentle rolling forested hills on the lower end to high rugged mountains on the upper end. Expect to see deer, elk, turkeys, osprey and sometimes moose and a swimming bear! Don%26#39;t expect to see houses, resorts and roads on the shore line. There is camping on the reservoir, full service to primative. There is a nice bed and breakfast very close, The High Country Inn. Dworshak State Park has Cabins for rent at the Three Meadows Camp. Ping me if I can be any help or if you would like to see some photos. It does experience draw downs so expect it to be 50 ft. down. No big deal. World class small mouth bass fishing along with trout and kokanee.
