My wife and I are going to travel to Sun Valley for 5 days in early March for some skiing from Boston for the first time. I%26#39;m looking @ a 1 bedroom spot at the Elkhorn Condos, a unit @ Atelier or the Tamarack Lodge.
- Any advice in terms of convenience between the three?
- Is it better to start the day @ the River Run Lodge, or the Warm Springs Lodge?
Thanx for any assistance...

Hi! As far as convenience goes, I would suggest the Tamarack Lodge...its right downtown Ketchum and across the street from a bus that can take you straight to the Warm Springs base of the mountain. Its also convenient to walk to restaurants and shops. The condos you mention are close to a bus line into town, but not convenient for walking to town. Along those same lines, the Best Western Kentwood Lodge is also downtown and a little nicer hotel.
Its fun to follow the sun as you%26#39;re skiing, so I would suggest starting at the Warm Springs side of the mountain, going to Seattle Ridge, and ending the day on the River Run side of the mountain.
Hope that helps, and hope you have a wonderful trip to Sun Valley!

Good information, thanx.
How long does it take for the shuttle bus to go from the River Run Lodge to the Warm Springs Lodge?
Its about a 7 minute drive at the most. Shuttle times should be posted at both day lodges.
I would say that any of the condos are great, as the bus does run very consistantly and often. Have you tried Pennay Lodge or Condos (can%26#39;t remember what it is called, but if you Google Pennays at river run, you will get it). They have great condos RIGHT at River Run.
As far as where to start, if you start at Warms Springs, and end at RIver Run, you will have to shuttle BACK to WS to get your car, if you have one. River Run is great...easy to park and has a great lodge with food and drinks. I have always used RR, as the parking at =WS gets hectic.
Tamarack is in town, but the other 2 are about 1-2 minutes from town...easy any way you do it. enjoy
