Hi as I posted in an earlier post we are coming for vacation that way in a week and I love to shop.....would I be better off shopping in Spokane or is there any good malls, outlet malls/stores in Iowa?
Shopping ?Hi,
I%26#39;m pretty sure you mean Idaho, not Iowa. Common mistake....
Coeur d%26#39;Alene has one real ';mall';, the Silverlake Mall on Hwy 95. There are quite a few smaller ';centers'; with Target stores, Best Buy, Ross, etc. and most of these are on the main Hwy 95.
Post Falls, which is right next to Coeur d%26#39;Alene has the Post Falls Outlet mall, but I believe quite a few of the stores are vacant and not sure it would be worth a trip. I could be wrong.
The downtown area on Sherman Ave. in Coeur d%26#39;Alene has some really cute little shops depending on what type of shopping you want to do, but if you%26#39;re set on malls, you might have to travel to Spokane.
The Spokane Valley mall off of Sullivan Ave. is a good-sized mall and is about 15 minutes from Post Falls and the Idaho border. If you want a BIG mall, the Northtown Mall in North Spokane is huge, but a 45 minute drive.
Unless you%26#39;re dying to visit a big mall, I think your time would be better spent visiting the downtown CdA area and maybe Silverlake Mall and IF you have extra time, maybe the Valley Mall. The drive to the big Spokane Northtown Mall is ugly and long and not in a particularly ';holiday friendly'; area.
Shopping ?KirkandMimi covered it all except I would add that there is a Cabela%26#39;s store at the Idaho/Washington stateline area. Cabela%26#39;s is a very large outdoor sports store, it opened in the last year.
Thanks so much both of you and yes I did mean Idaho haha We are coming from Alberta and staying in Spokane a day or 2 before going to Coeur d%26#39;Alene and can%26#39;t wait to go to the casinos and shop woo hooo!
I think the Silverlake mall is depressing! I would gladly drive to the Valley Mall in Spokane or to the downtown River Park Square. It might help us give suggestions if you were to say what you would be shopping for....
I mostly agree with inHayden about the mall in Coeur d%26#39;Alene, the malls in Spokane are bigger and nicer.
I also agree with KirkandMimi about the stores on Sherman, tons of cool stuff. I%26#39;m a big kid at heart so my favorite store down there is FigPickles toy store.
