Fly into Boise or Twin Falls

Searching for flights for our late Jan trip to Sun valley and looking between Twin Falls and Boise. Right now it seems that Twin falls is the better option but a little more money. Times and route are better. I will be flying most likely from Orlando but possibly Tampa. Most of the flight to Boise go all the way to LA for the Layover and Twin Falls is Salt lake City. The driving time and mileage from Twin Falls looks better too. I do not see much said about flying into Twin Falls for visiting Sun valley, mostly Boise or the Sun valley Regional airport and it was much more money for us.

Any reason I should avoid twin Falls?

Fly into Boise or Twin Falls

BG, the only reason to avoid Twin Falls is if you don%26#39;t care to fly on puddle jumpers. You%26#39;re right, the drive time from Twin Falls to Sun Valley is a couple of hours less than from Boise, on a well-maintained 2-lane highway. Joslin Field is a cute little rural airport with one restaurant, several car rental desks, and quick security.

Have a great trip, whatever you decide!

Fly into Boise or Twin Falls

it is better to try and fly into Twin. We usually try that in winter, or just go to Boise. Twin is an easy 1 1/2 hour drive, and Boise is 21/2 hours. If you opt to go into Boise, if there is snow, you go down a few miles further than the regular turn to SV (sorry, after 30 years i only know that you turn by the Pilot station, can%26#39;t miss it...there are signs), you turn towards Shoshone and Gooding. This takes you into Shoshone and hits the road from Twin. It only takes 15 minutes further than the regular road to SV, thru Fairfield, but if you can , i would just fly into Twin. Usually, if in the winter we are having a snow day, the SV airport busses you to Twin anyway. I don%26#39;t chance in the winter, leaving from SV...go to Twin. hope this wasn%26#39;t too hard to understand

Ya I think I understand ya.

good and when you make your final itinerary, i will be more clear...sorry, i am old...ha ha

Horizon Air flies into Sun Valley direct from SEA and LAX. Have you looked into that option? Of course, ticket prices could be more expensive and if Sun Valley is having bad weather the plane will divert to Boise, but they arrange for a bus to get you to Sun Valley.

Flight rates for LAX to SUN just announced: Los Angeles to Sun Valley airfares starting at $169 each way. The LAX-SUN non-stop flights will begin on December 18 and run through March 2009. Check Horizon airline%26#39;s website for details.

Alaska/Horizon last I checked and I have flown the route with them only goes to Seattle from Orlando. Would prefer to not go that far out of the way to get there.
