Coeur d'Alene in September & return to Billings

We are two seniors who will be ending our 2 week western vacation in Coeur d%26#39;Alene. We would like some advice on places to see and to eat that would fit in to our budget. We have an extra day to get back to the airport so if anyone could give us an idea of any sites to see along the way there, we would appreciate it.

There is a lot to see, in and around Coeur d%26#39;Alene, if you have an extra day I would take the time to check out Wallace, Kellogg, or Sandpoint too.

In Coeur d%26#39;Alene, you%26#39;ll want to check out the boardwalk, downtown, the museum, and maybe Fort Sherman. If you have the time I would also recommend a lake cruise. There are a lot of great restaurants in town deciding what kind of cuisine you want. My favorites include Tomato Street/Angelo%26#39;s/or Tony%26#39;s on the lake for Italian, Las Chavelas for Mexican, for fine dining I prefer Cedar%26#39;s Floating Restaurant or the Bistro on Spruce, Dockside has the best Huckleberry Cobbler, Hudsen%26#39;s has the best hamburgers, Thai Bamboo is great for Thai Cuisine, and those are just to name a very select few.

I hope you guys have a fabulous trip, this really is a great area to visit.
